Poetry of Thought

Looking Back...

Remember?

The warmth of their presence. That look and feel of homely essence.

Catching your eye in mischief and fun. Each - with their own smile and coy glance.

A curtain of disinterested love billowing over the sash of their nurtured respect.

Recall !

Throw back your memory. The moments of sublime individuality.

As each form of child in familial community revolved like a separate sun

Around your single blue eyed earth to light your unwinding road .

Where are your explanations now?

Now that the lash of the rain clatters against your corroded vehicle and their

Naive paintings folded , small in the palm of your hand

Turn to a papier-mache with your dripping regrets.

It’s done now - and the remains of days spent in vivid colour

Warm bedroom romps and hikes, rides on bikes around lakes and kisses

Lie crumpled in your ash tray past.

They are gone.

Yet the rain is still lashing the rotted vehicle body you ride in

And your auto - responder tells you..
